SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- WXYZ-TV revs up with exclusive broadcast coverage of the "Woodward Dream Cruise presented by Chevrolet" on Saturday, August 18th from 7-9 p.m. The event is the largest one-day automotive event in the world and draws more than one million visitors to legendary Woodward Avenue each year.

7 Action News anchors Stephen Clark, Carolyn Clifford and Diana Lewis will host the program, with live reports from Mary Conway, Dave Rexroth, JoAnne Purtan, Alicia Smith, Vic Faust and Brad Galli.
Channel 7 will provide bumper-to-bumper coverage of all the action from Ferndale to Pontiac, with live reports from a hot new spot on Woodward, the Vinsetta Garage in Berkley. During the show, WXYZ will also celebrate the career of legendary anchor and Dream Cruise supporter Diana Lewis. Lewis will retire from the station in the fall after more than three decades on the 7 Action News anchor desk. Diana, as well as many other 7 Action News anchors and reporters, will be on hand from 1pm-8pm on Saturday to meet viewers and sign autographs.
WXYZ viewers can get in on the fun by uploading photos of their favorite ride to Channel 7's Chevy car garage on wxyz.com. They can also share their stories and cruising memories with WXYZ's social media community through Facebook and Twitter. New this year, viewers will be able to participate in a live cruising social media tweet-up along Woodward Avenue during the broadcast.

WXYZ will begin coverage in the week leading up the Dream Cruise with live reports from Woodward Avenue. 7 Action News will broadcast live from the event on Thursday, August 16th and Friday, August 17th as cruisers get a jump on all the fun. 7 Action News on Saturday morning will provide live reports from the first "Cruise in Shoes," the new 5K fun walk/run through the streets of Royal Oak, presented by the Woodward Dream Cruise and Fifth Third Bank.
