WXYZ-TV Presents Detroit Lions Draft Special!

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 will broadcast an exclusive look inside the Detroit Lions NFL draft plans, Wednesday, April 27, from 7-8 p.m., the day before the NFL draft officially begins.
Lions Draft: Before the Snap, will be hosted by WXYZ Sports Director Don Shane and Sports Anchor Tom Leyden. It will feature interviews with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Detroit Lions Head Coach Jim Schwartz, and Detroit Lions General Manager Martin Mayhew. It will also include a look inside the top secret draft room with Detroit Lions President Tom Lewand, an interview with NFL draft prospect Greg Jones from Michigan State University, and a panel of sports experts including Detroit Lions color analyst Jim Brandstatter, WDFN host Matt Shepard, and Mike Valenti from 97.1 The Ticket.

The latest technology will be used to bring viewers an electronic line-up of potential draft picks through the use of a UTouch screen. Viewers will also have an opportunity to respond live during the show with their top pick suggestions through Facebook and Twitter.
"This is a great opportunity for sports fans to get an in-depth look at the draft and what it can mean to the Lions in the future, and to tell us what they think," said WXYZ Sports Director Don Shane.
The show is the first in a series of programs and marketing efforts developed through a partnership between the Detroit Lions and WXYZ-TV. It includes three preseason games and preseason pregame shows, training camp updates, as well as, a weekly one-hour Ford Lions Report show, and a coach's report and player's segment in Action News during the regular season.
