WXYZ-TV Hosts Final Mayoral Debate
Tuesday, October 29th live at Channel 7 studios with candidates Mike Duggan and Benny Napoleon
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- WXYZ-TV will host the final debate between Detroit mayoral candidates Benny Napoleon and Mike Duggan on Tuesday, October 29th. The debate will take place exactly one week before Detroiters go to the polls to choose their next mayor.
The candidates will face-off at Channel 7's Broadcast House from 7-8 p.m. in front of a live studio audience. A larger audience of Detroit voters will watch and participate in the debate from the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History where Channel 7 anchor/reporter Glenda Lewis will be on hand. 7 Action News anchor Stephen Clark will moderate a special post-debate webcast from 8-8:30 p.m.
Since 1993, Channel 7 has been the proud home of the final debate for all of the Detroit mayoral elections.

Channel 7 editorial and public affairs director Chuck Stokes will moderate this final Detroit mayoral debate. Questions will be asked by a panel including Carolyn Clifford, 7 Action News anchor; Lloyd Jackson, WJR News/Talk 760 assistant news director; Bankole Thompson, senior editor of the Michigan Chronicle; and Crain's Detroit Business Publisher Mary Kramer. The Booker T. Washington Business Association and the Detroit Black Chamber are also participating as sponsors of the debate.
Detroit voters are encouraged to submit their questions for the candidates on wxyz.com or by calling WXYZ's debate hotline at (248) 827-9424. Viewers will be able to watch the debate live on WXYZ-TV as well as on wxyz.com and the station's mobile apps.
