SOUTHFIELD Mich., Aug. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- WXYZ-TV is the place for the Detroit Lions Preseason coverage! WXYZ is the proud partner of the Detroit Lions for coverage of the Detroit Lions preseason games beginning with the first home game on Friday, August 12th. WXYZ will broadcast the following games:
- Friday, August 12th, 7:30 p.m. against the Cincinnati Bengals
(If the game is not sold out 72 hours prior to broadcast, WXYZ will broadcast the game on a taped-delay basis at 9:30 p.m. Pregame coverage of "Lions Tailgate" will begin at 9:00 p.m.) - Friday, August 19th, 7:30 p.m. at Cleveland Browns
- Thursday, September 1st, 6:30 p.m. at Buffalo Bills

NFL broadcast veteran, Matt Shepard, will provide play-by-play coverage, and will be joined by former Lions tight end and NFL analyst, Rob Rubick, in the broadcast booth. WXYZ anchor/reporter, Tom Leyden, will provide in-game reports from the sidelines.
All the games will be preceded by a half-hour pregame show, "Lions Tailgate." Lions Tailgate will be hosted by WXYZ Sports Director Don Shane and Tom Leyden, with reports from Lions and NFL Hall of Famer, Charlie Sanders. The show will give viewers a preview of the upcoming game including interviews with coaches and key players, and insight into the team's strategy.

Preseason games will be carried out-state on the following Lions network affiliates: WXMI-Grand Rapids; WNEW-Flint, Bay City, Saginaw; WSYM-Lansing; WFQX-Cadillac, Traverse City; and WJMN-Marquette.
WXYZ is also the new home of the Ford Lions Report LIVE, a one-hour live program that airs every Sunday during the regular season from 11 a.m. - noon in the Detroit area, and 11:30 a.m. - noon on the Lions network affiliates throughout Michigan.
