SEATTLE, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA), Washington state's unifying voice for the technology community, today announced it will release its FullConTech Playbook outlining a game plan for growing the tech talent pool and strengthening the local ecosystem at an exclusive invite-only reception this Thursday, October 15. The Playbook is the culmination of WTIA's recent FullConTech event and was co-authored through a series of 12 facilitated sessions by more than 300 trailblazing leaders across the education, government, and tech industries.
"The FullConTech symposium was a first step in building a collaboration among industry, education, and government to tackle our thorny problems. Publishing the FullConTech Playbook is the next step," said Michael Schutzler, CEO of the WTIA. "This Playbook gives leaders and passionate citizens an outline of where there is already some agreement and momentum. Working together, we can build a much better talent pipeline, address the physical impacts we've had on our region, and build a stronger community and economy for decades."
The FullConTech Playbook outlines the core areas of concern in our region such as transportation, housing, and recruiting and defines where there is momentum for change. The plays included in the book are comprehensive solutions generated through the diverse insights of FullConTech attendees with early buy-in from multiple sectors. Throughout the event, similar themes rose to the surface, including: digital literacy, maximizing connections across sectors, making better use of data and technology, and the rethinking of work structure and how to prepare people for it. The Playbook captures these synergies, establishes a baseline for evaluating the region's progress toward solutions, and equips the community as a whole to take on these challenges by arming them with ideas that can be tested now.
The WTIA will be working with stakeholders and the community to validate these ideas, test their feasibility, and look for opportunities to collaborate with organizations already working on these issues. It will also reveal the top ideas and solutions it will publically commit to leading or supporting over the coming year at the event.
