SACRAMENTO, Calif., Jan. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) President Catherine Reheis-Boyd announced today the hiring of Shant Apekian as Vice President, California Policy and Strategic Affairs. In this role, he will lead WSPA on public policy and legislative matters in California.

Prior to joining WSPA, Shant served as the Vice-President of Public Affairs for the California Apartment Association and helped lead its legislative and political programs. He has also served as legislative staff to state legislators and worked on numerous political campaigns.
Apekian's first day at WSPA was December 31, 2018.
