Not listed on the agenda for the outdoor luncheon session was a chartered aerial prop plane trailing a banner that read: HEY ECO NITWITS: CAP & TRADE IS DEAD.
The plane was chartered by Americans for Prosperity (AFP) to circle the ECO:Nomics group for two hours.
Phil Kerpen, AFP VP for Policy, said, "We wanted to send a message to the rent-seeking corporate community that their corrupt cap-and-trade scheme has been resoundingly rejected by the American people and, for now at least, Congress. Enriching themselves at the expense of our economy is an abysmal idea which, fortunately, looks dead for this legislative session."
