WSB Traffic Reporter and Host Mark Arum Inducted into Georgia Radio Hall of Fame
ATLANTA, Oct. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Media Group Atlanta's Mark Arum was inducted into the 2017 class of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 21. He is the youngest inductee in the organization's 11-year history. The annual awards ceremony was held at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta. Other 2017 inductees included Atlanta Braves announcer Don Sutton and longtime radio engineer Tom Giglio.
"I am truly humbled to be inducted into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame," said Mark Arum. "I've had the pleasure to work with so many amazing people over my twenty years with WSB and never imagined that I would ever join so many of them in the Hall of Fame. It's an incredible honor."
"I was truly thrilled to introduce Mark Arum as the youngest inductee to the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame," said Condace Pressley, WSB Radio's Program Operations Manager and member of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame Class of 2016. "Mark is a good man who does as much work in the community as he does on the radio. He's an incredible talent – whether it's as a traffic reporter or as host of his own show. He's great to be around, and it's a pleasure to work with him at WSB every day."
Pete Spriggs, WSB Radio's Director of Branding and Programming, said, "Mark trained at the wing of the legendary Capt. Herb Emory and has a similar work ethic and will to serve the listener and the community, and he proves that every day in the WSB Traffic Center. That role as every listener's 'cool, smart friend' parlays into his successful evening job as Atlanta's biggest emerging talk show host. He knows how to have sharp fun with listeners and colleagues, while making all of them feel that they are included in the 'club' and in the family. Listeners love Mark for his knowledge and very likeable personality. It's amazing how comfortable he is being himself on the radio. I am very proud of him!"
