Wright Close & Barger Promotes Brian Cathey, Andrew Nelson to Partner
New partners skilled in trial and appellate work
HOUSTON, Jan. 8, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Wright Close & Barger LLP is pleased to announce that Brian Cathey and Andrew Nelson have been named partners in the appellate and civil litigation firm, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Mr. Cathey joined the firm as an associate last year following clerkships with the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court, along with stints at other law firms. He handles a variety of complex commercial and appellate litigation, especially involving energy, construction and transportation clients. Mr. Cathey has the distinction of earning the highest score on the Texas Bar Exam in 2012. His law degree is from the University of Michigan Law School.
Mr. Nelson is experienced at both trial and appellate work. He handles a diverse array of cases including first-party property insurance coverage disputes, trademark and trade secret litigation, personal injury and wrongful death defense, and other general commercial litigation. He has also briefed and argued several cases before the intermediate Texas courts of appeals. Mr. Nelson is an honors graduate and was valedictorian of the 2010 graduating class of the South Texas College of Law.
