COLUMBIA FALLS, Maine, April 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Wreaths Across America (WAA) announced today that its 2015 military thank-you cards are available for order. As a part of the organization's "Thanks a Million" campaign, the cards are free and available for only a small shipping and handling charge. The organization is challenging Americans to use the thank-you cards to show appreciation for one million veterans or active service members in May, National Military Appreciation Month, and beyond.
"These thank-you cards were designed for the moments when we wish to show gratitude but do not have the words to express our appreciation," said Karen Worcester, WAA executive director. "Our goal is to remind at least one million veterans and active service members that we are thankful for the sacrifices they have made for us and for our country."
The cards may be ordered online, and are available for only a shipping and handling charge of $5.00 per 100 cards. The business card-sized military appreciation cards feature a scene of remembrance wreaths placed at Arlington National Cemetery during the past holiday season, accompanied by words of thanks for the recipient. On the back of the card is the organization's stated mission to Remember, Honor, Teach, as well as a space for the card giver to personalize the note.
In conjunction with the issuance of this year's thank-you cards, WAA has announced its official theme for the 2015 season: "Cemeteries are for the living. Every stone tells a story."
"Each and every marker in a cemetery represents much more than a final resting place," said Wayne Hanson, WAA chairman of the board and a Vietnam veteran. "It speaks to the personal story of the veteran interred there and acts as a reminder of his or her bravery and sacrifice."
