WRD Hosts 11th Annual Groundwater Quality Workshop
Providing continuing education to groundwater pumpers
LAKEWOOD, Calif., June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Water Replenishment District (WRD) hosted its 11th Annual Groundwater Quality Workshop on May 27, 2015. The free workshop welcomed approximately 120 water professionals representing cities, water companies, and utilities from south Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.
Topics included the latest updates on drinking water regulations; regulations for oil and gas activities; statewide drinking water permit; reverse osmosis lessons from advanced water treatment; overview of WRD's programs; and impact of drought on local groundwater resources.
Prominent speakers included Dr. Cathy Chang, WRD Senior Engineer and Water Quality Program Manager; Kurt Souza, State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water; John Geroch, Department of Conservation, Division of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources; Renan Jauregui and Phil Isorena, State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Water Quality; and Everett Ferguson, WRD Senior Hydrogeologist.
