LAKEWOOD, Calif., Jan. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Water Replenishment District (WRD) held the swearing in ceremony for three of its current Board of Directors who won re-election in November. Directors Sergio Calderon, Willard Murray and Lillian Kawasaki were re-elected to serve a new four-year term.

The current Board President Sergio Calderon was sworn into his second term as the Director for Division Four which includes the cities of Bell, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Cudahy, Downey, Huntington Park, Maywood, South Gate and Vernon as well as sections of Monterey Park, Montebello, Los Angeles and Walnut Park. Director Calderon was sworn into office by newly elected Assemblymember Ricardo Lara (D-CA).

Director Willard Murray enters his fourth term of office and was sworn in by State Senator Roderick Wright (D-50). Director Murray represents Division One which includes the cities of Hawthorne, Inglewood, and portions of Los Angeles. He currently serves as Board Vice President and is a member of the External Affairs Committee and the Water Resource Committee.
Director Lillian Kawasaki was sworn into office by State Assemblymember Warren Furutani (D-55). Director Kawasaki was first elected to the WRD Board of Directors in 2006 to represent Division Three which includes the cities of Artesia, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, La Mirada, Lakewood, Long Beach and Signal Hill. Director Kawasaki furthers her involvement in water issues as one of the newest members of the California Water Update Plan 2013 Public Advisory Committee (PAC) to help address the State's overall water challenges.
