WPS Health Insurance Announces Fixed-Rate Individual Health Insurance Plan for Wisconsinites Ages 60-64
WPS Bridge65 is designed for people in their 60s who don't have access to an employer-sponsored health plan and are too young for Medicare. The plan includes a multi-year rate guarantee for people ages 60 to 64. Once an individual enrolls in the WPS Bridge65 plan, her monthly premium and coverage will stay the same for up to five years, or until she turns 65 and becomes eligible for Medicare.
MADISON, Wis., March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- WPS Health Insurance today announced WPS Bridge65, a new individual health plan for people ages 60 to 64 who want the security of a fixed monthly premium. The WPS Bridge65 monthly rate can be "locked" for up to five years, offering peace of mind to anyone concerned about rising health insurance costs. WPS believes this is the only product of its kind in Wisconsin.
Tom Olson, WPS senior vice president of sales and marketing, believes that WPS Bridge65 will provide much needed relief to people who are waiting for Medicare eligibility, but do not have access to group health insurance coverage.
"People in this age group may be early retirees, self-employed, or may have recently lost a job that provided health insurance," notes Olson. "The last thing they want to worry about is whether or not their health insurance premium will go up every year between now and Medicare. We created WPS Bridge65 to help people budget for those 'in-between' years with confidence."
Mr. Olson also points out that WPS is already a favorite brand among Wisconsin seniors. "We've been serving Wisconsin residents for more than 60 years. Our Medicare supplement is the No. 1-selling supplement in the state, and has a customer satisfaction rate well over 90 percent."
WPS Bridge65 can be customized to suit individual needs. WPS offers a range of benefit and deductible levels for the plan, as well as prescription drug coverage. People can choose a traditional copay plan similar to what one may have under a group policy, or an HSA-qualified plan that allows customers to save for current and future medical expenses in a tax-free health savings account.
WPS provider networks include Wisconsin's most trusted doctors and health care facilities. For those who travel extensively, WPS also offers a national network wrap. WPS Bridge65 members are also eligible for discounts on vision care, health club memberships, and other wellness resources.
WPS is currently accepting applications for this medically underwritten product, for coverage dates of April 1 or later. Any individual between the ages of 60 and 64 who is a U.S. citizen or resident legal alien and a Wisconsin resident can apply for WPS Bridge65. Interested individuals can contact their local insurance agent or call WPS at 1-800-351-9925 for a quote.
