RALEIGH, N.C., May 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Elster (NYSE: ELT) announced today that WPPI Energy, a regional power company with 51 consumer-owned utility members serving more than 195,000 homes and businesses in Wisconsin, Upper Michigan and Iowa, has selected Elster as a provider for its multi-utility advanced metering data collection and management service. WPPI Energy will deploy Elster's EnergyAxis® solution to create a hosted advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system that will improve customer service and meter reading for participating member utilities.

WPPI Energy will integrate Elster's EnergyAxis Management System to enable network management, control and operation for its participating member utilities. In conjunction with the Meter Data Management System which WPPI Energy also hosts for its members, Elster and WPPI Energy will provide members with the benefits and savings realized through hosted AMI solutions.
