Wounded Warrior Project Receives a Joyous Holiday Donation from Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers
CHICAGO, March 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers—the largest physical therapist owned and managed practice in the U.S.—is proud to announce that the company has raised $8925 for its chosen holiday charity, the Wounded Warrior Project. All funds were raised from sponsorships and raffles at Accelerated's 4th annual Holiday Party, held last week at Drury Lane in Oak Brook Terrace, IL.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to "honor and empower wounded warriors" of the United States Armed Forces. The organization serves veterans and service members who have suffered a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, related to their military service on or after September 11, 2001.
Accelerated employees showed their support of the Wounded Warrior Project by purchasing raffle tickets for various items, such as an iPad, Surface, and MacBook Air, which were donated by Accelerated and available to win at the Holiday Party. In addition, local businesses were offered paid sponsorships of the event. Windstream, Advanced Rehabilitation Systems, and Regency selected the gold sponsorship level; while Kenway Consulting, Proform Technologies, and CDW Healthcare 3D Exhibits donated at the silver sponsorship level.
"Our employees and sponsors have my heartfelt gratitude for their kindness and support in helping to raise awareness and funds for the Wounded Warrior Project," said Eric Warner, CEO, Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers. "The generous commitment of Accelerated employees was nothing short of amazing and Accelerated's donation will go a very long way in helping the organization further its very important mission."
About the Wounded Warrior Project
With advancements in battlefield medicine and body armor, an unprecedented number of service members are now surviving severe wounds or injuries. According to the Wounded Warrior Project, for every U.S. soldier killed in World Wars I and II, there were 1.7 soldiers wounded. In Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, for every U.S. soldier killed, seven are wounded. The Wounded Warrior organization has responded, and provides unique programs to assist these warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life. For the Wounded Warrior Project, "it's not about the war; it's about the warrior."
