Wounded Warrior Project participates in PittsburghGives
PITTSBURGH, May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) will be one of more than 130 non-profit organizations to benefit from PittsburghGives on Tuesday. The one-day, online giving challenge is hosted by The Pittsburgh Foundation and is part of the national day of giving called Give Local America.
The event will raise awareness of the pressing needs affecting the Pittsburgh area, and encourages the community to give in their own backyard to organizations impacting the areas in which we live and work. PittsburghGives will help bring attention to the 1,786 injured service members in Pennsylvania, and the programs we offer them and their families for engagement, mind, body, and economic empowerment.
"The Wounded Warrior Project Pittsburgh office works tirelessly to impact the lives of local warriors and their families, not just today, but for their lifetime," said Christy Leonard, Grants Specialist. "We are excited to participate in PittsburghGives and encourage individuals and companies to use this opportunity to step up for a local cause."
