Wounded Warrior Project participates in GiveBIG
SEATTLE, May 4, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) will be one of many local, non-profit organizations to benefit from The Seattle Foundation's fifth annual GiveBIG on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. The 24-hour online charitable giving event aims to inspire generous support of nonprofit organizations that make Seattle a healthy, vibrant place to live. GiveBIG is part of the national day of giving through Give Local America.
The event will raise awareness of the pressing needs affecting Seattle, and will encourage the community to give in its own backyard to organizations impacting the areas in which we live and work. GiveBIG will help spotlight the 2,625 injured service members in Washington, and the free programs we offer them and their families in the vital areas of engagement, mind, body, and economic empowerment.
"The Wounded Warrior Project Seattle office works tirelessly to impact the lives of local warriors and their families, not just today, but for their lifetimes," said Erica Neu, WWP Grants Specialist. "We are excited to participate in GiveBIG and encourage individuals and companies to use this opportunity to step up for a local cause."
GiveBIG will run from midnight to midnight, and offers matching gifts and cash prize incentives for WWP as one of the few veteran's organizations participating.
