Wounded Warrior Project Engages with Soldiers, Families, and Caregivers at 2015 Association of the U.S. Army Annual Meeting and Exposition
Military Family Forum sponsorships connect military families with essential resources
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In pursuit of its mission to honor and empower Wounded Warriors, Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) will host an exhibit and sponsor events supporting military families at the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition taking place in Washington, DC, October 12-14, 2015.
The AUSA Annual Meeting and Exposition brings together senior Army and defense officials, thousands of active duty military personnel, hundreds of military spouses and family members, and many veterans working in the defense industry for professional development opportunities and connections to new resources. During the annual meeting, the AUSA Family Readiness Directorate hosts several Military Family Forums for military families that address issues affecting families of service members and veterans.
"Wounded Warrior Project recognizes the tremendous stress that a warrior's injury places on the entire family, and we know how important the family is to successful recovery and reintegration back into the community," said Steve Nardizzi, chief executive officer at WWP. "We're honored to continue our support of the Army family at AUSA and engage with service members, veterans, and their caregivers and families at the annual meeting."
WWP is sponsoring Military Family Forum V, focused on what military families need to know about their service member's transition to civilian life, as well as a luncheon for senior military spouses. Attendees at the Military Family Forum will hear from representatives from the Army, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and WWP partner organization Team Red, White & Blue, among others. Military Family Forum V takes place from 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015. The sponsorship supports the Engagement pillar of WWP programs, which focuses on connecting and engaging with injured service members, family members, and caregivers in communities across the country, at every state of their recovery. The WWP booth is #869 and can be found in Halls A, B, & C.
Since 2003, WWP has grown its lifesaving programs and services to meet the evolving needs of the wounded veterans of this generation. Currently, WWP provides support to more than 76,000 injured service members and over 13,000 caregivers and family support members through 20 free programs and services.
