TUCSON, Ariz., May 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As part of its Morale, Welfare and Recreation program, the Armed Forces Foundation has partnered with US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) in hosting an informational facility tour and barbecue this Friday, May 14 for local wounded service members at the CBP's Tucson Aviation Branch in Arizona.

The ranks of federal law enforcement agencies are replete with former service members as these ex-soldiers arrive at the job with much of the skills and experience necessary to excel in law enforcement. However, at the same time, choosing which agency to apply for and the application process itself can be overwhelming.
Recognizing this, the Armed Forces Foundation has organized this opportunity for wounded service members to explore post-service employment options. The Tucson based CBP fleet of planes and helicopters provides intelligence, law enforcement and humanitarian services on the US/Mexico border, and the pilots and law enforcement agents of US Customs and Border Patrol are among the best trained federal agents in the country. By providing current wounded service members the opportunity to learn more about CBP and network with agents, this event will ideally help them transition into federal law enforcement careers upon their completion of service.
The barbecue and informal tour of the air branch and its aircraft will take place Friday afternoon. The Armed Forces Foundation hopes to continue such events as part of its ongoing mission to ease service members' transition from military service to civilian life.
