Worldwide SMB Mobile Workforce will grow to 300 million in 2016, Techaisle Research
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Techaisle's upcoming report on global SMB mobile workforce forecast shows that by 2016 there will be slightly over 298 million SMB employees who will be mobile workers. One-fourth will be from the mid-market segment. Nearly 150 million SMB employees will be telecommuting and over 120 million will travel on business. The number of cloud users will jump from less than 140 million in 2012 to over 200 million in 2016. 1 in 4 SMB employees will be working from home by 2016.
With rapid increase in number of mobile workers, there are five main concerns that are percolating to the top of SMB's concerns: Cost of solutions that support mobile workers, security from theft and data privacy, mobile data pricing, transaction security and mobile device pricing.
The Asia Pacific Region (excluding Japan) will be the largest region by far, with almost half of the global share at over 147 million total SMB mobile employees. China and India will comprise over 60 percent of region's total due to business growth, new business formation and rise in mobile device density. Rapid growth in Asia will result in global share of SMB Mobile workers shifting by 4 percent from other regions to Asia.
China will have the largest number of SMB mobile employees, however, the mobile worker percent of its entire SMB workforce will be lower than India due to China's strong mid-market manufacturing sector's employees working on assembly lines not requiring traditional mobile devices.
North America has so far led the global adoption of SMB mobility resulting in 30 million SMB mobile workers in 2012. EMEA region will see a slightly higher growth than North America during the forecast period.
The upcoming Techaisle report consists of SMB mobile workforce forecast for regions as well as US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Australia, India, China, Brazil and Mexico.
