HOUSTON, June 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Worldwide Power Products is thrilled to announce the hiring of Dave Vennie. Vennie hails from Minneapolis, where he served as the Central Region Sales Representative for Caterpillar's electric power division, overseeing dealers in ten different states. He will now apply his experience and expertise to his new position of Vice President of Sales and Engineering at WPP, a Houston-based company dealing in power generation equipment. WPP Vice President, Mark Lum, expressed unvarnished enthusiasm about his new team member, saying, "Dave is a trusted industry veteran that enhances our ability to provide engineering services and turnkey solutions to our customers."
Vennie certainly carries the type of credentials that will ensure his success at WPP. Vennie boasts a rich background in the field of electricity that begins with a degree in Electrical Engineering earned from Michigan Technological University. Years of experience working in the electric power industry have enabled Vennie to amass an impressive knowledge-base, as well as a vast network of valuable industry connections. He is also a certified Six Sigma. Perhaps most importantly, in respect to his role at WPP, Vennie is extremely well acquainted with all of the major generator brand names. He became an expert on Caterpillar while working for the company; moreover, his position at Caterpillar required him to master detailed knowledge of the products of other major brand competitors, such as Cummins, Detroit, Kohler and Generac. WPP deals in new and used equipment from all of these brands.
Vennie is excited to be joining a youthful, innovative company in Worldwide Power Products. Vennie has no shortage of praise for his new employer. "In all of my business dealings, I never came across people who approached the business quite the way WPP did...with a sense that relationships are [number one]," he said. "I joined WPP because I believed they were approaching the business the right way, they had the right people on board, they were getting more of the right people on board, and the opportunity to grow was there."
As for the future, Vennie looks forward to the task of "developing a successful sales and engineering team" with a strong work ethic. He says, "I would love to grow the company to be in a position where we are known worldwide as a company that can provide any power solution to any customer. From a 20kW generator to a 20MW power plant in South America, Worldwide Power Products is your answer." Certainly, with the keen and ambitious Dave Vennie now on board, Worldwide Power Products should move even closer to the forefront of the power generation industry.
