ARLINGTON, Va., March 12, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Worldwide ERC®, the premier trade association for talent management and global mobility knowledge, today announced plans to convene a virtual summit and postpone Advance 2020 – its newest collaborative, think-tank style in-person event – until later this year. Originally planned for May 13-15 in Houston, Texas, the program is being rescheduled in light of the risks presented by the coronavirus outbreak. New dates will be published as soon as possible while Worldwide ERC® continues to monitor developments and the recommendations of leading health organizations.
"After carefully considering reports from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the leadership team and board of directors felt strongly that it was necessary to postpone Advance 2020," said Edward Hannibal, Chairman of the Board at Worldwide ERC®. "The health and safety of our delegates, speakers, sponsors, staff and event and venue partners are our top priority. We look forward to rescheduling this event to allow for uninhibited in-person collaboration."

Worldwide ERC® will convene a virtual global summit on Thursday, May 14, 2020 to ensure industry professionals have an opportunity to engage and learn from one another remotely.
"Some of the greatest value of our events comes from the connections and inspiring ideas that result from being together in one place," adds Hannibal. "With that in mind, the virtual summit is not a replacement for, or adaptation of, the Advance 2020 programming, but a different way for us to facilitate collaboration and discussion around mobility's vital contributions to businesses and the rapidly evolving workforce."
Worldwide ERC®'s one-day virtual summit will present six educational sessions, open to all talent mobility professionals, between 09:00 and 15:00 EDT. Session recordings, recaps and Q&A opportunities will allow participants around the globe to engage in the content of their choice, at times that are most convenient for them.
Virtual summit educational content will focus on:
- The state of the industry, including a global economic outlook.
- The importance of mobility throughout the entire talent management lifecycle and building the workforce of the future – from assessment and selection or recruitment, to onboarding and re-or up-skilling and leadership development.
- The intersection of technology and talent mobility – how enhanced data and new tools are reshaping the experience.
- Talent shortages and non-traditional approaches to solving them.
More information on session content, speakers and registration will be available in the coming weeks at www.worldwideerc.org. For questions surrounding Advance 2020 and the virtual summit contact [email protected].
