World's Oldest Law Firm Motions for Mobility Strategy with MobileIron
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With a history dating back to 1570, leading UK law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore is future-proofing its business by embarking on a mobile transformation, assisted by MobileIron (NADAQ: MOBL) together with its mobility specialist partner Appurity.
MobileIron and Appurity are helping Thomson Snell & Passmore provide employees with secure mobile access to highly confidential client and business information, across applications and mobile devices.
"The decision to choose MobileIron was very easy; it is one of the leading enterprise mobility management (EMM) platforms on the market and we were confident the solution would provide us with the security we require to keep our sensitive client data confidential," said Anthony Graham, head of information systems at Thomson Snell & Passmore.

Mobile workforce key to business longevity
Thomson Snell & Passmore's mobility strategy includes replacing BlackBerry devices with iPhones and introducing a bring your own device (BYOD) program that allows employees to use either a corporate- or personally-owned device for work.
"We are operating in a highly competitive landscape, so being able to increase employee efficiency and satisfaction is key to our continued longevity. With MobileIron, we have been able to mobilize more core business processes beyond email. Now our team is able to accomplish both work and personal tasks from one device," said Graham.
Making the move to mobile-first
The long standing law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore wanted to equip its employees with the right tools to manage cases as efficiently as possible, without compromising confidential client information.
In addition to securing emails across mobile devices, the firm has deployed all its business apps through MobileIron's Apps@Work Enterprise App Store. This allows the firm to ensure every employee has the most current set of apps on the device, including apps such as telephone conferencing software and BigHand, an application that allows lawyers to dictate notes and share them securely.
"Our lawyers need to be able to hit the ground running, so being able to rollout MobileIron's platform quickly to all employees was paramount. From a management point of view, MobileIron allows us to easily secure devices from a central console and it improves our application and email security," said Graham.
