BELLEVUE, Wash., July 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- StormCon, the only North American event dedicated exclusively to the education and advancement of stormwater pollution prevention, is preparing for its biggest year to date. In beautiful Seattle, Washington and with 16 consecutive years under its belt, the conference and exhibition will host participants, exhibitors, educators, and spectators in the thousands from August 27th through the 31st, 2017.
Largely driven by urban development, stormwater runoff is quickly becoming the greatest threat to water quality. In order to protect public health, safety, and our water supplies, stormwater pollution prevention is a top priority at StormCon 2017. Focusing on effective design, review, implementation, and/or inspection of stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) and monitoring programs, pre-conference certification courses available include: Certified Erosion, Sediment, and Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI), Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC) Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ) Certified Professional in Municipal Stormwater Management (CPMSM) Certified Professional in Industrial Stormwater Management (CPISM).
An interactive, expert panel discussion, Stormwater Infrastructure Management - A Management Perspective, is offered on Thursday, August 31st focusing on a variety of topics related to stormwater pollution prevention and drainage infrastructure, including: national and regional perspectives on infrastructure needs; financial affordability and funding options; potential policy shaping for the changing regulatory environment; and outreach strategies to address funding needs.
The StormCon Program Guide outlines available pre-conference and conference training and certification courses, exhibit hall and networking events, as well as accommodations and sightseeing opportunities.
