"As a casual player, you think you know everything there is to
know about playing air hockey. Then, as you watch two
professional players, covered in sweat, strategically trying
to pick apart their opponent, you realize how little you
really know. The passion and love these players have for air
hockey is second to none. After you watch one match, I
promise you will come away with a different outlook regarding
the game of air hockey."

Last year, the Air Hockey Players Association (AHPA) crowned Colin Cummings of Beaumont, Texas the world's youngest air hockey world champion in the history of the sport at age 16 years, 102 days. This accomplishment landed Cummings in the Guinness Book of World Records, as well as a spot on the Top 10 plays of the day on ESPN's SportsCenter.
Next month, Cummings will return to the event where he made history to try and defend his title and continue his quest to become one of the greatest air hockey players in the history of the sport. Several of the best air hockey players from across the nation will be in attendance to try and stand in his way.
According to Chris Lee, Co-Founder and CEO of the AHPA, "This event will determine the best air hockey player in the world. Players of all ages and skill levels will leave it all on the table hoping to become the next air hockey world champion. I challenge anyone and everyone to come and test their air hockey skills against the best players in the world."
The 2016 AHPA Air Hockey World Championship will be held July 29-31 in Colorado Springs, CO at the Chapel Hills Mall, 1710 Briargate Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
