World-renowned Photographer Annie Leibovitz's MasterClass is Available Today
In her first-ever online class, Annie shares her approach to taking pictures.
SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 14, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- MasterClass, the premier online education platform, announced that legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz's MasterClass is available beginning today at www.masterclass.com/al. Students can enroll for $180 per year for unlimited access to all new and existing MasterClasses with the All-Access Pass (or $90 for just one class). Each enrollment option can also be given as a gift.
Annie Leibovitz is one of the most influential photographers of our time. In a career spanning over 40 years, she has produced iconic, thought-provoking editorial work for Rolling Stone, Vanity Fair, and Vogue as well as creating award-winning advertising campaigns. Her numerous honors include the International Center of Photography Lifetime Achievement Award, the American Society of Magazine Editor's first Creative Excellence Award, and the Centenary Medal of the Royal Photographic Society in London. She has been decorated a Commandeur in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government and designated a Living Legend by the Library of Congress. Exhibitions of her work have appeared in museums and galleries all over the world.
In Annie's first-ever online class, students will learn what she looks for, what she sees, how to work with subjects, and how to use light. Annie takes her students on a photoshoot with Chef Alice Waters and then back into her studio to explore creating concepts and digital post production.
"I'm enamored with photography and its latitude—all the different possibilities of how to use photography," said Annie Leibovitz, MasterClass instructor. "I'll never tire of going out to take photographs. It's always an adventure."
"Annie is a rebel. She teaches you how to break the rules to take stunning photographs.
It's easy to get wrapped up in the latest technology, Annie shows us that what makes a picture stunning isn't the gear -- it's the story. If you want to learn how to use f-stops, this isn't the class for you. If you want to learn how to take photos (no matter how technical you are) that make people cry, smile, laugh or get stopped in their tracks -- this is your class. There isn't another class like it," said David Rogier, CEO and Co-Founder of MasterClass.
