The festival's focus is to create a collaboration among civic leader, iconic local businesses, and entertainment industry networks in order to represent the one of a kind and vibrant community that is North Hollywood.
The festival will host a red carpet event on Saturday April 12 at 5pm which will feature celebrity guest appearances and the American made couture stylings of local favorite Pinup Girl Boutique. Among those scheduled to appear are Skeet Ulrich (Scream), John Heard (Home Alone), Melissa Claire Egan (The Young and the Restless), Lisa Edelstein (Castle) and longtime comedic favorite Cindy Williams (Laverne & Shirley). Q & A sessions with talent from the screenings will take place immediately after the screenings. In addition, CBS anchor Susie Suh, reporters Stephanie Simmons and Lisa Sigell will also be joining the event with many more celebrities expected to be added as well.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit two distinguished nonprofit partners, The Talbert Family Foundation which assists families dealing with a catastrophic illness and Grid Alternatives whose mission is to make renewable energy technology and job training accessible to underserved communities. Key community partners and sponsors include The Hesby, LA Red Carpets, Bow and Truss Restaurant, and the Greenhouse network of filmmakers.
The festival was the brainchild of Gustavo Sampaio, an award-winning editor and TV producer as well as an independent filmmaker. A NoHo resident himself for more than 4 years, his goal to make this festival standout and bring an unforgettable experience for all, including sponsors and charitable partners. The North Hollywood CineFest is poised for substantial growth next year, seeking to more than double the amount of films screened at the 2015 festival. For more information visit nohocinefest.com
