Perez Feeling Confident To Passing Medical Exams with FIA
MEXICO CITY, June 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In a world exclusive video with MexicoToday, an initiative by Marca Pais - Imagen de Mexico, Mexican-born Sauber Formula 1 team racer Sergio "Checo" Perez confirmed he will be racing the Grand Prix in Montreal, Canada on June 12 following his crash in Monaco, and feels confident he will pass the medical exams as required by the governing body Federation Internationale de L'Automobile (FIA). The 21-year-old, Guadalajara-born Formula 1 racer Perez confirmed in the world exclusive video he has been successfully recovering from the concussion and bruised thigh injuries since he was released from the Hospital Princesse Grace in Monaco on May 30. Perez, who is contesting his first season in the Formula 1, stated in the video, "Yes, I will be competing in Canada and the rest of the season. I just have to do an FIA exam, but I feel I will be 100 percent [fine] for the test, and looking forward for the next Grand Prix." Perez also added, "I am looking forward to getting some points for the team, [keeping up] with the good momentum, and I think I am ready for it."
As in every race during the 2011 season, Perez is expected to be starring his Sauber C30-Ferrari, a high-speed, state-of-the-art vehicle with aerodynamic efficiency, performance through low-speed corners and mechanical grip. The vehicle, uniforms, marketing collateral, and the related website are part of a premium partnership signed between the Sauber Formula 1 team and Marca Pais - Imagen de Mexico.
