This year's challenge was uniquely opened online to participants from 27 countries including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Singapore, China, Malaysia, and so on, and winners from each country were invited to WCG 2011 Pan Championship series in three continents to compete for the final ticket to Grand Final.
It is really a great record to have one million official games downloaded and a total of 20,000 ranking registrations in this year. It was enabled by the best-selling smartphones: Samsung's Galaxy S II and by Samsung's rapidly growing ecosystem: Samsung Apps. These two factors are successfully combined, and created a great synergy in association with WCG's global gamers network to show up Samsung's capacity to communicate with their device owners directly online.
"The Samsung Mobile Challenge gives Samsung the opportunity to showcase our advanced mobile technology while allowing consumers to experience our vision of mobile gaming," said Younghee Lee, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Samsung Electronics. "Our continued partnership with World Cyber Games allows Samsung to engage and entertain gamers in new ways."
"WCG has been expanding gaming tournaments for a variety of platforms from PCs, gaming consoles to mobile devices and is at the forefront of mobile gaming," said Brad Lee, CEO of World Cyber Games, Inc. "Mobile gamers around the world are sure to be impressed by the online tournament platform, allowing participations freely from their devices."
