WORLD CHAMPION SAND SCULPTORS BUILD TRIBUTE TO THE GULF AT SANDESTIN GOLF AND BEACH RESORT; Larger Than Life Sculpture To Mark Anniversary of Gulf Oil Spill

DESTIN, FL, April 14 /PRNewswire/ - Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort announced tomorrow's arrival of Sandsational Sand Sculpting, home to the world champion sand sculptor. Artists will work with the sugar white sands of the beach, creating a larger-than-life sand sculpture to mark the one year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon explosion and the Gulf Oil spill.

This Friday, April 15, guests and residents can watch current world champion sand sculptor, Thomas Koet and his team of seasoned professionals Jill Harris and Dan Belcher. They plan to create a commanding display that will attract, inspire, and impress people of all ages.

"A 'Tribute to the Gulf' will be an illustration of what is special about Florida's Gulf coast. We want to focus on the beautiful beaches but also why people come here to this region to have fun," said Jill Harris, owner of Sandsational Sand Sculpting. "We will be on Sandestin's beach for six consecutive days to make our interpretation of this region come to life with our wonderful sculpture."

The incredible 18-by-10 foot sand sculpture will come to life starting Friday, April 15, on Sandestin's Gulf beach front. Ms. Harris and her team will be sculpting until Wednesday, April 20, the one year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon Explosion.
