JERSEY CITY, N.J., Nov. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- World Business Lenders (WBL), a nationally-recognized small business lender, today announced the addition of over 100 new employees to its workforce through a large-scale hiring program facilitated by state-sponsored economic incentives from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJ DOL). The hiring initiative, launched in August of 2016, has nearly doubled the number of employees at WBL's new headquarters in Jersey City allowing the company to meet its strategic goal to bring more than 225 jobs to the area while providing a significant boost to the local economy. WBL's strategic partnership with the NJ DOL serves as a working model for how government and business may collaborate to mutually benefit respective constituents, and, significantly, positions WBL as a growing employer that is meaningfully impacting Hudson County. The company's new hires will support its nationwide expansion and overall mission of improving the flow of capital into America's small business community.
"At the core of World Business Lenders' values is supporting the vitality of local businesses and economies throughout the country, and we are honored to grow our workforce with tremendous talent while enhancing the economy of Jersey City and Hudson County," said Doug Naidus, CEO of World Business Lenders. "We want to thank the State of New Jersey and the Jersey City Mayor's Office for their valuable assistance to our continued expansion as a company and allowing us to make an increased impact to small businesses both in New Jersey and nationwide."
"World Business Lenders' large-scale hiring program is a welcome boost to the local economy, bringing hundreds of jobs to their worldwide headquarters here in Jersey City," said Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop. "We are happy to welcome them as one of our newest corporate citizens and look forward to continuing to partner with them as they work to support the small business community."
"Since its relocation to New Jersey only a few months ago, World Business Lenders has already made tremendous contributions both to the Jersey City local economy, as well as to the greater New Jersey economy as a whole thanks to its large-scale hiring program," said U.S. Congressman Albio Sires. "We are proud that exemplary businesses like WBL have partnered with the State and call Hudson County its home."
"We at the Hudson County/Jersey City Workforce Development Board are very excited to build upon our relationship with World Business Lenders and our other workforce partners that have relocated here and boosted the Jersey City and Hudson County economies, making our city and county each a platform for future business growth," said John Fugazzie, Executive Director of the Hudson County/Jersey City Workforce Development Board. "World Business Lenders, having created over 100 new jobs in Hudson County in such a brief period of time, is particularly impressive to me because many of these positions have been filled by our own local residents. It is a stand-out partnership model for all of our workforce partners to follow."
World Business Lenders relocated from New York City to Jersey City, NJ, in July of 2016 with support from a Grow New Jersey (Grow NJ) award approved by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. The company continues to grow its national footprint with the opening of three new branches in 2016, bringing its total number of branches to 10 nationwide.
