World Business Lenders Bolsters Executive Ranks
NEW YORK, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- World Business Lenders (WBL), a lender to small businesses, announced today that it appointed Gary Bierfriend as Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Operations, Thomas Wills as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, and Matthew Moline as Director of Information Technology. Also, WBL announced that Bryan Herman separated from the company on February 27th to turn his attention to other professional endeavors.
Wills is to succeed Robert Gula as Chief Financial Officer. Once the transition is complete, Gula will move on to pursue his philanthropic interests. Alexander Weindling, an accomplished executive, recently appointed by the company as Managing Director and Head of Retail Branch Management (http://bit.ly/1NcRk1I), will take over Herman's responsibilities.
Bierfriend has more than two decades of experience in the financial services industry, during all of which he has worked with Doug Naidus, WBL's Founder and CEO. Most recently, Bierfriend was Managing Director and Head of Deutsche Bank's Mortgage Origination for the Americas. Previously, he served as President of MortgageIT. Bierfriend holds a B.B.A. in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University and a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Wills joins the company from United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) where he was First Vice President of Finance. Prior to UNFCU, Wills served as Senior Vice President and Controller at Amalgamated Bank, and as First Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer at Emigrant Bank. He also managed audit teams at both KPMG and Ernst & Young. Wills, a Certified Public Accountant, holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
Moline most recently served as Chief Technology Officer of Quantx Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund. Prior to Quantx, Moline was Senior Director at St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers and Manager of Information Systems at Autism Speaks. Moline holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Philosophy from Columbia University and a MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
