PEACHTREE CITY, Ga., Jan. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- World Airways, a subsidiary of Global Aviation Holdings, and Silk Way Airlines have completed a teaming agreement to provide outsized air freight service to the U.S. military. The agreement provides freight services beginning in January utilizing Silk Way's IL-76 aircraft. Global Aviation provides lift for U.S. military passengers and cargo on its two charter airlines, World Airways and North American Airlines, through its teaming arrangement with the Air Mobility Command. World has been supporting U.S. military operations since 1955.

Silk Way, based in Baku, Azerbaijan, offers both scheduled and charter flights to more than 50 destinations worldwide, including Afghanistan, Iraq and West Kazakhstan. Silk Way operates a fleet of nine Ilyushin-76 aircraft, three Antonov AN-12s and two Boeing 747-400 freighters. The airline was awarded with the ISO 9001:2008 certification in April 2009. Silk Way international freight services include: oil and gas equipment, construction material and heavy industrial equipment, automobiles, vehicles and spare parts, humanitarian cargo, live animals and perishables, foodstuff, stage and exhibition equipment, consumer goods consignments, and hazardous goods handled in full compliance with ICAO standards.
