Working Hard? Hardly Working! Fantasy Football Invades the Office
Dave & Buster's Survey Reveals What's Really Happening at Work During Fantasy Football Season; 15 Million Fans Prep for Draft Day
DALLAS, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Think your coworkers are shouting profanities because they missed a deadline? Think again! The 2010 fantasy football season is upon us, and a survey from Dave & Buster's reveals that more than half of respondents play fantasy football at work. Turns out that "missed deadline" may be a missed pass or thwarted touchdown attempt!
With 15 million fantasy football players gearing up for 2010 season draft parties in the coming weeks, Dave & Buster's asked fantasy football fans the questions that count in the Dave & Buster's Fantasy Football Survey. So what matters when it comes to a draft party? Players weighed in to rank the must-haves, and the survey showed that in order to be "in the zone," a draft party requires the following line-up:
- Wi-Fi – With the whole fantasy league checking player stats to ensure the best picks, you can't skimp on Wi-Fi. Iron-clad Internet is a must.
- Fun – Even if you're sitting in front of a computer for the draft, fantasy football fans still said that a fun environment was a must. You want to feel the energy and share the excitement of getting your top picks! Surprisingly, a fun environment for the draft party outranked beer in the list of must-haves.
- Munchies – A draft party without food is a recipe for disaster. Fun tailgate eats are required to take players the distance on draft day and stave off exhaustion after hours of fantasy football mania!
To help meet the needs of fantasy football players everywhere, Dave & Buster's is offering draft party deals at all store locations for the 2010 fantasy season. Party hosts receive a free room rental as well as a "Draft Kit," including 50 percent off league commissioner fees on CBSSports.com, a $20 Power Card for the host, 10 percent off food purchases and more. Fantasy football fans can check with the special event manager in their area to learn more about great draft party deals.
"Dave & Buster's has everything you need to kick off your fantasy football season with a killer draft party," said Sean Gleason, chief marketing officer for Dave & Buster's. "Die-hard fans can revel in the excitement of the draft in our private event space, featuring free Wi-Fi, an unmatched atmosphere and great food, including bar burgers, wings and beer. Plus, you can catch the high-def action all season long on newly installed HDTVs in many of our stores."

The Dave & Buster's Fantasy Football Survey also revealed that:
- Fantasy football players spend an average of two hours a week playing at work; nearly six percent of respondents say they log more than five hours at work each week!
- Fantasy football team performance affects mood, according to nearly 95 percent of respondents. What's more – one out of 10 confessed that fantasy football affects their mood often!
- Draft day is the biggest day for fantasy football players, according to 3 out of 4 respondents. Draft day beat out both the Super Bowl and Pro Bowl for "best day" honors.
