Craig Speed, President of Woodland Foods commented, "The relocation provides us the ability to be even more responsive to our customers needs. The flexible design allows us to quickly add additional capacities and move at the pace of our customers' opportunities."
The State of Illinois and the City of Waukegan are extremely supportive of the move, as Woodland has been working with local civic leaders to help address the city's strong desire to attract jobs. David Moore, Founder and CEO of Woodland Foods stated, "This renovated building offers a point of pride for all of those involved and brings jobs to Waukegan. We have revitalized a long-vacant site."
The new facility, a former Styrofoam manufacturing facility, will house over 1,100 products, will have manufacturing space to support Production Lines and will have twice as much office space for employees. The production facility is nearly three times the current size. The organization of the plant has been specifically designed to address food safety, quality and flavor migration given the wide breadth of Woodland's dried ingredients and will ensure that their products continue to be the finest available.
