COLUMBIA, S.C., April 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Woodforest National Bank recently announced that employees throughout the state of South Carolina proudly organized fundraising efforts to help stock the shelves of Harvest Hope Food Bank. Donations collected at Woodforest branches across the state have been allocated to Harvest Hope Food Bank in support of their long-term relief efforts for Hurricane Matthew victims.
"So many families continue to deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew's severe flooding and Woodforest is proud to partner with Harvest Hope Food Bank to support their commitment to provide much needed essentials to feed these families," stated Andrew Rabuck, Senior Vice President and South Carolina Divisional Manager of Woodforest National Bank.
"Hunger is a daily crisis situation, and for those who are dealing with this crisis, the devastation of a natural disaster compounds their troubles and is often enough to push their resources beyond the brink. Harvest Hope serves the hungry on a daily basis, but during a disaster, and the recovery afterwards, our work becomes even more critical to those in need and to those impacted by the disaster. This donation from Woodforest National Bank is a blessing for Harvest Hope and those we serve. The funding will help us purchase critical resources as we continue to respond to the needs of South Carolinians affected by the disaster as they continue to recover," said Denise Holland, CEO of Harvest Hope Food Bank.
