COLLEGE PARK, Md., April 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Wood Partners, a national real estate developer and owner, expressed its gratitude today to the over 200 firefighters, as well as first responders, who battled a construction fire at its apartment community in College Park, MD, on Monday.

The 275-unit property located at 4700 Berwyn House Road was under construction and unoccupied when the fire began Monday morning on an upper floor. The nearby University of Maryland, College Park campus closed mid-day, and some nearby residents were temporarily evacuated. By 3:00 p.m., the fire was under control.

"Safety is one of our top priorities and we are working closely with local fire officials and investigators to identify the cause of the fire."
