SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) announced today that the fourth annual Aces for Humanity campaign — a joint WTA and USANA initiative supporting the USANA True Health Foundation (THF) — has raised another $25,000 USD for the not-for-profit charity, whose mission is to ensure that impoverished children and families reach their fullest potential by providing food and nutrition.
Beginning at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells this past March, every ace served at a Premier-level WTA event translated into a donation for the Foundation. For every ace served by the four USANA Brand Ambassadors (Caroline Wozniacki, Genie Bouchard, Monica Puig and Zheng Saisai), the WTA contributed $20 toward the campaign, while every ace served by any other player on Tour translated into a $5 donation.
"With all of the recent natural disasters that have been experienced around the world, we are beyond grateful for the continued support that the WTA and its players have given us," said Brian Paul, president of the USANA True Health Foundation. "Because of their commitment we have been able to respond to those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Maria, as well as the 7.1 earthquake in Mexico City, efficiently and effectively."
Since 2012, the non-profit organization has raised over $13 million through humanitarian missions, regular contributions, fundraising projects and its collaborations with the WTA, which has donated $170,000 to the Foundation's efforts over six years, to aid thousands around the world.
"USANA continues to be a great partner and one that represents compassion and generosity," said USANA Brand Ambassador, Caroline Wozniacki. "I am proud to be part of Team USANA and help raise awareness for this worthwhile cause and Foundation."
"The WTA is very proud to again contribute $25,000 to the USANA True Health Foundation," stated WTA CEO and Chairman Steve Simon. "Our partnership with USANA and their Foundation provides for the ability to support many impactful opportunities that support education, hunger, disaster relief and other key humanitarian needs."
USANA is one of the WTA's global premier partners and has served as the Official Health Supplement Supplier for the WTA for the past ten years. Since 2006, the company has provided its high-quality nutritional supplements, protein bars and protein shakes to more than 200 WTA players.
