SAN FRANCISCO, March 25, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- This year, Docker is offering a more inclusive experience for DockerCon attendees -- even if they aren't human. The event, which will take place at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco from April 30 - May 2, will feature developer-focused content, while also expanding the conversation to address some of the biggest issues facing industries today.
WHAT:
Women@DockerCon, a half-day summit for self-identified women, will provide a safe and open space to discuss the issues and opportunities facing professional women today at any stage of their career in any functional discipline. Twenty dollars, all of which goes to Black Girls Code, gets you attendance to summit talks and panels, networking happy hour, and admission to the DockerCon Expo Hall Monday evening for a welcome reception with all DockerCon attendees and sponsors.
R.O.S.I.E, a 3D printed Inmoov robot, takes the stage. Containers are the base unit of the future of distributed computing. By combining R.O.S.I.E.'s Robot Operating System with Docker's container technology, she will showcase her best-in-class open source artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to become one of the first robots to give a live keynote address.
Cultivating the future with a new track for kids. As part of Docker's efforts to make DockerCon doors open to all, Docker will offer childcare including a visit to the innovation and tech lab at The Children's Creativity Museum. Gone are the days of "Mom [or] Dad has to stay home with the kids…" now Docker is making sure the next generation of innovators are part of the DockerCon experience.
WHAT ELSE:
Attendees can learn about a variety of topics including modernizing applications, building CI/CD pipelines, deploying distributed applications at the edge, simplifying Kubernetes, fostering community, building windows containers, securing applications and more.
WHO:
With millions of users and more than 700 commercial customers leveraging Docker today, the collection of innovation stories and use cases continues to grow rapidly. The industry's leading container event will feature talks by Alm Brand, American Water, Citizens Bank, Entergy, ExxonMobil, Halliburton, InterSystems, Jireh Semiconductor, Liberty Mutual, Lockheed Martin, McKesson, MetLife, Mitchell International, Netflix, Physicians Mutual, Pipedrive, Quicken Loans, Splunk, Virginia Tech, Wiley Education Services and more.
