Women's Flat Track Roller Derby Playoffs Begin Aug. 16
Top 60 Teams To Compete for two Division Championships
AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The top 60 women's flat track roller derby leagues in the world will compete for the sport's top honors in the 2013 Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) Division 1 and Division 2 Playoffs and Championships. The first of seven tournaments kicks off in Des Moines, Iowa, this weekend - Aug. 16-18.

The WFTDA Playoffs and Championships bring together the most talented, highly trained and committed skaters and officials from WFTDA member leagues to display the "Real, Strong, Athletic and Revolutionary" game play that pushes the limits of the sport worldwide. Whether participating on the track, cheering in the stands or watching on WFTDA.tv, the WFTDA tournaments provide everyone who loves roller derby an opportunity to witness the most anticipated match-ups of the year.
The WFTDA Division 1 and 2 Playoffs and Championships offer seven full weekends of full-contact competition. - Aug. 23-15, 2013 – Kalamazoo, Michigan; Wings Stadium
Division 1 Playoffs:
- Sept. 6-8, 2013 – Fort Wayne, Indiana; Memorial Coliseum
- Sept. 13-15, 2013 – Richmond, Virginia; Greater Richmond Convention Center
- Sept. 20-22, 2013 – Asheville, North Carolina; U.S. Cellular Center
- Sept. 27-29, 2013 – Salem, Oregon; Oregon State Fair Pavilion and Exposition Center
WFTDA Championships: Nov. 8-10, 2013 – Milwaukee, Wisconsin; U.S. Cellular Arena
