Women Of United Road Receive Prestigious Industry Honors

ROMULUS, Mich., July 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Several female leaders within United Road were recently bestowed prestigious recognition for their contributions to the logistics industry both nationally and locally.

Kathleen McCann, President  & CEO, was chosen as one of the 2016 Top Most Influential Women in Michigan from Crain's Detroit Business Magazine. McCann leads United Road Services, which hauls 3 million new and used vehicles between the U.S. and Canada annually for a variety of customers in the new and remarked car categories. It has a fleet of 1,800 vehicle haulers and contracts with another 5,000 carriers for intermittent hauling. United Road's 2015 annual revenue was just over $500 million. McCann's accomplishments at United Road are numerous, including leading the team that recently acquired and integrated a large competitor, which nearly doubled the size of the company.

Rhea Kuntz, Director Logistics Support, is a 2016 Women in Remarketing nominee through Auto Remarketing Magazine. Kuntz, a 27-year veteran of the logistics industry has performed multiple roles in administration, process improvement, customer service, carrier management and dispatch. Amanda McGregor, Manager of Driver Recruiting, was named one of Crain's Detroit Business "20 in their 20's." McGregor was hired in 2014 to increase the number of new hires into the car hauling profession. Her department quickly grew from four to seven as they hire drivers at a clip of about 40 a month and have hired more than 800 since they began.  CEO Kathleen McCann credits Amanda with increasing hiring and reducing turnover through smarter hiring decisions and by being "a super ambassador" at meetings with schools and at job fairs.
