TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Women in Pensions Network (WiPN), founded in 2009 by a group of industry leaders seeking to create a forum for women in the pension industry to network and cultivate professional and personal growth, is pleased to announce its new Tampa metro chapter. Shelia Reed, Chief Marketing Officer of Aspire Financial Services, has been recruited to launch the WiPN Tampa Chapter on November 28, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Centre Club Tampa.
The goal of WiPN is to provide opportunities for its members to network with top women in the retirement industry along with local members. The regional chapter format also provides women who are unable to travel to industry events to create connections that count locally. The association has 14 chapters and approximately 1,700 members nationally. The addition of the Tampa chapter, with its impressive financial services footprint, will link a strong group of local professionals and strengthen the national network.
"I'm proud to be working alongside of these accomplished women and part of an organization that supports women in their career growth, addressing business and life, and building conduits through networking and mentoring," said Shelia Reed, WiPN Tampa chapter leader. "Mentoring and networking are critical in all careers and I've benefited from both. Launching WiPN in the Tampa market for our industry is allowing me and other women to bring these tools personally to our profession to continue to make a difference. It's an organization that delivers a win-win," Shelia continued.
Shelia's charter is to provide chapter members with engaging meetings and events to learn best practices from industry leaders. She will call upon her expertise in the marketing, technology and financial services industries, as well as her professional contacts, to provide best practices for career growth.
President of the WiPN network, Kathleen Roche, commented, "WiPN is steadily growing and the energy we are experiencing is motivating. Expanding into the Tampa market is another mark that represents the strength and spirit of the group."
