The European Women in Agribusiness Summit will bring the same intimate gathering atmosphere to the Barcelona event as the U.S. summit, while also providing an interactive platform for women to discuss their unique experiences in the industry and hear from women leaders regarding industry trends and current topics. The goals of the summit are twofold: to make the agriculture and food sectors career destinations for today's talented women, and to provide tools for women to become informed leaders in the industry.
Here's what some of the over 400 attendees at the recent U.S. conference in October 2013 had to say about the event:
"The Women in Agribusiness Summit provided an incredibly comfortable and supportive space to learn more about career paths in agriculture and introduced me to women that followed unusual paths to agribusiness leadership. Women of incredible influence spoke with such candor about challenges in their career, work/life balance, and how they ultimately reached positions of success. I was inspired and fired up about my career in agriculture, but I was also more informed and empowered to invest in myself and my industry."
"I met many women with whom I shared a great deal in common and although we may approach a subject from a different perspective, we were all working towards universal goals -- feeding people across the globe, creating a vibrant and growing ag industry while furthering our lives both professionally and personally."
"I showed up not knowing what to expect and I left with a new lease on life as a woman in agriculture and a woman in the work force in general. 'We are girls,' and we have to encourage more females in our area of business. Thank you for all of your efforts putting this summit together."
The Barcelona agenda has been prepared to encourage dynamic participatory discussions around important industry topics such as The Impact of Climate and Weather on Agricultural Production; Maintaining a Sustainable Supply Chain: Doing business across borders; and The Future of GMO Crops.
Additional breakout sessions focus on ag policy, sales and marketing trends and best practices, and innovations across the industry supply chain. Executive roundtable discussions with today's ag leaders will bring the pathways to leadership in ag closer to all across the entire value chain, and provide ample opportunities for networking across organizational levels.
Attendees to this summit also can enjoy consecutive session attendance at the Oilseed Congress Europe/MENA conference (www.oilseedcongress.com).
