Women Business Owners Training to Benefit Phoenix Youth At Risk Mission: Transforming Lives Through Mentoring
PHOENIX, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Women business owners who attend the Sixth Annual Women Entrepreneurs' Small Business Boot Camp in Scottsdale February 6 will leave the event knowing they have not only bettered themselves but also have done something good for youth at risk in the greater Phoenix area.
Part of the proceeds from this year's event will go to Phoenix Youth at Risk, a non-profit organization devoted to transforming the lives of at-risk youth through mentoring. Since its founding in 1987, the group has helped more than 2,000 at-risk youth.
Small Business Boot Camp organizer Susan Ratliff says the local charity offers a unique hands-on educational experience designed to open troubled youth to a whole new realm of possibilities.
"Phoenix Youth At-Risk matches youth in the program with a mentor who is committed to their success," Ratliff said. "They also learn to choose supportive friends and acquire the tools needed to be effective in school and to see school as an opportunity for the personal advancement and success. The main goal is to create a future that is very different from what their past indicated was possible."
The group's signature New Pathways Mentoring Program features a four-day intensive retreat, a comprehensive curriculum, one-on-one and group mentoring culminating in nine months of weekly workshops and community service projects.
Phoenix-area women business owners will have a chance to tap into valuable educational resources and connect with hundreds of other successful female entrepreneurs when the Sixth Annual Women Entrepreneurs' Small Business Boot Camp convenes at the Chaparral Suites Resort in Scottsdale on February 6th from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Registrations for the day-long event are being accepted now at http://www.womensbusinessbootcamp.com/.
"The Women Entrepreneurs' Small Business Boot Camp showcases local business success stories and offers an unmatched arsenal of useful ideas and practical ammunition to help women business owners battle their most difficult challenges," Ratliff said. "Attendees get instruction, tools and strategies they can implement the same day."
Ratliff and local public relations executive Kathy Kerchner are keynote speakers for the event. Ratliff will speak on "How to Succeed When You Don't Feel Successful," and Kerchner's topic is "Master Your Message, Then Master the Media." Nine workshops will also be presented on topics ranging from customer service to sales, marketing, finance, leadership, technology, branding and social networking.
