PITTSBURGH, July 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Wombat Security Technologies (Wombat), the leading provider of cyber security awareness and training, today announces the release of its Securing Your Email – Fundamental anti-phishing training series. This latest training targets fundamental best practices surrounding three key phishing threat vectors: malicious links, infected attachments, and requests for login credentials and other sensitive information.
The Securing Your Email – Fundamental series expands Wombat's already industry-leading anti-phishing training library, and has been added as a featured option within the Anti-Phishing Training Suite. To enable targeted and timely training, ThreatSim® customers can automatically auto-enroll employees with follow-up training assignments that match the type of simulated phishing attack sent to the end user (link-based, attachment-based, or data entry-based). All of Wombat's training content is directly tied to risky activity to quickly mitigate risks and change end user behavior.
The new series includes four mini-modules, which run 5 to 7 minutes in length.
- Introduction to Phishing – Provides a brief but instructive look at the best practices related to identifying and handling suspicious emails;
- Avoiding Dangerous Links – Gives users practical guidance on how to find out a URL's actual destination and examines common visual cues that can help users determine whether a website is legitimate or dangerous;
- Avoiding Dangerous Attachments – Helps users understand why they should treat any email attachment with a healthy suspicion, and how to handle these types of messages; and
- Data Entry Phishing – Teaches users to identify and avoid phishing scams that request personal or sensitive data (available in July).
"With the continued increase in phishing, ransomware and social engineering attacks, employee awareness and education has become a mission-critical activity," said Joe Ferrara, President and CEO of Wombat. "Organizations worldwide are battling a multitude of increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks, which is why we continually work to expand and evolve our offerings to meet our customers' needs and provide training that matches the dynamic threat landscape the Securing Your Email series further solidifies Wombat's position as the leader in comprehensive, interactive, actionable anti-phishing training – which continues to be the largest cyber security threat facing organizations today."
A companion training suite, Securing Your Email – Advanced, is set to be released Fall 2017. This series will build on the fundamental training and will provide education about more advanced topics, including spear phishing attacks and how to identify phishing emails on mobile devices.
