Witt/Kieffer Selected to Lead Search For New President & CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™

HOUSTON, April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) announced today that it has selected executive search firm Witt/Kieffer to lead the search for the Show's new president and CEO. The 9-member selection committee reviewed the credentials of several highly qualified recruiting organizations before selecting Witt/Kieffer.

Former HLSR president and CEO Skip Wagner accepted the president and CEO position of the 12th Man Foundation at Texas A&M University in March. Current HLSR chief operating officer Leroy Shafer has been named interim president and CEO until a permanent successor has been identified.

No official timeline has been established for completing the search, though HLSR and Witt/Kieffer are already working aggressively to identify a talented and diverse pool of candidates for the position.
