Trapeze Wireless LAN Technology Instrumental in Shaping Students' Education
"Kean is a metropolitan, comprehensive, interactive, teaching university with a campus dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in higher education," said President of Kean University, Dr. Dawood Farahi. "Kean has a vision to use technology to enrich the student experience. The new Trapeze Networks wireless network extends connectivity to all our users, wherever they are on campus – 100% of the time – making our vision a reality."
The robust wireless LAN expansion is the backbone of the university's initiative to better connect with students to help them succeed both academically and socially. Providing for the growing number of users and applications, the Trapeze Networks wireless network scales to support the 15,000 students with all the security features required by educational institutions. System-wide configuration changes and network monitoring from one central system are realized with Trapeze Networks' central management capabilities in its thin AP model. Also, the solutions' dynamic RF features help eliminate any interference on the network.
Kean University's IT department relies on Johnston Communications, North Arlington, NJ, for the installation, service and support of the Trapeze Networks wireless network. Mr. Martin Slouka, Network Consultant, Johnston Communications, said, "Kean University and Johnston Communications teamed together to define the network strategy and deploy the equipment. We were happy we selected the Trapeze product portfolio not only because it is easy to configure and manage, but the robustness of the wireless network exceeds the level expected from Kean students, faculty and staff."
