Aftermarket solutions give fleet owners the axle capacity they need but introduce compliance and logistics challenges due to the size and configuration of the components used in the retrofit. A truck converted with a larger, center bowl axle can suffer from reduced ground clearance and a cab height that exceeds the limits set by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). The Fabco front driving axle reduces ride height compared to center bowl drive axles by greater than four inches.

As of June 2017, International Truck will offer their utility customers the Fabco FSD-20A right-hand offset axle as an option on both The International® WorkStar® 7400 and 7500 models.  "As we focus on growing our market share in the vocational segment and catering to the needs of our customers, we're excited to offer this new axle in partnership with Fabco Automotive," said Mark Stasell, vice president, Vocational Truck Business, International Trucks.
