With 'September Sustainability Month,' Carnegie Council Launches Year of Programming on Sustainability
NEW YORK, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Monday September 13 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm EST, the CARNEGIE COUNCIL for Ethics in International Affairs will launch its second annual SEPTEMBER SUSTAINABILITY MONTH with a luncheon panel, "Eco Innovations: Small Sparks, Big Impact" at its headquarters at 170 East 64 Street in New York City (speakers and other details below).
SEPTEMBER SUSTAINABILITY MONTH continues Wednesday September 22, 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. EST, with a panel, "Leading by Example: How are the armed forces stepping forward to combat climate change and improve the U.S. energy posture?"
Both events will be webcast live at http://www.cceia.org/live and soon afterwards event videos, audios, podcasts, and transcripts will be posted on www.carnegiecouncil.org.
Speaking about the Council's commitment to ethics and sustainability, Program Director and Senior Fellow Devin Stewart asks, "How can we build a future in which the interests of the environment, business, and society work together, not against each other? That's the core question behind the sustainability movement. Rather than concentrating only on possible future catastrophes, people must also have an opportunity to imagine what the world should look like. It's time to focus on solutions and foster innovations."
The Carnegie Council's SEPTEMBER SUSTAINABILITY MONTH launches a full year of sustainability programming, September 2010 to June 2011, with generous funding from Hewlett-Packard and Booz & Company. September highlights include:
