NEW YORK, Jan. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Having received final approval from the City of Westminster, New York-based Thor Equities today launched its restoration of the famed Burlington Arcade in the heart of London's shopping district.

These modernizations will contribute to a noticeably more chic appearance and ensure that Burlington Arcade remains one of the ultimate international shopping destinations for current and future luxury retailers alike.

Construction will take place over the next 12-14 weeks outside of business hours to ensure that current shopkeepers are not impacted by the renovations. This first phase is expected to be complete in time to welcome tourists and local residents to the modernized arcade by the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebration in April 2012.
